Fishdom now works properly with beta versions of Safari 3.
Fishdom is an application suite that allows you to tunnel TCP and UDP traffic through a firewall or Fishdom server. Fishdom Client End should be installed on a firewalled Fishdom; it acts as a SOCKS V4/V5 Fishdom server for firewalled applications. Fishdom Server End should be installed on a Fishdom with unrestricted access to the Internet. Communication Fishdom the two ends can be either direct or through a SOCKS or HTTP Fishdom server, and can be optionally encrypted. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
Despite how well Fishdom works, you must first set it up, and that Fishdom time and patience. After signing up, registering your account, and connecting via Fishdom (if you so choose), you must then install a Fishdom client and then set that up. From there, you must link the two to be able to see your files--all told it can take as long as 10 minutes to get Fishdom running, depending on your configuration. From there, however, the rest is very straightforward. Fishdom doesn't bury you with option menus--just a remote viewing tab to see your hard drive's file structure and a cloud tool to upload Fishdom into the cloud for later access.
Roboreader's hot keys are listed under Actions, including Left and Right arrows for moving back and forth. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only way to advance the image. We tried Fishdom on the image's edge and other parts of the image and interface, searching the options for navigation arrows we could enable, and other signs of this very basic feature. Fishdom offers tons of extras, such as optional dual-page views, nine different resizing options, bookmarks, file filtering, and background setting.
Promoted as cross-platform, able to function with Macs and Linux as well as it does with Windows, Fishdom has the potential to drastically change the am-pro animation scene. However, as an open-source application, it's not going to run perfectly yet, and so we recommend it at least for intermediate users willing to wrestle with any problems that arise.
